A very large forest scorpion (Heterometrus spinifer) gilded in fine 24ct gold leaf. The scorpion was cleaned, preserved and set before being hand gilded in layers of high-grade pure gold, then burnished to a reflective shine. The gold reflects different tones throughout the day as the temperature of the sunlight changes. Photographed using a daylight bulb, the tone of the gold in most household settings is warmer.

Frame measures approx. 8"x10" or 21cm x 26cm with wall hanging hardware on the back. Glass removed for photography to avoid glare, all frames ship with the glass.
