A very large forest scorpion (Heterometrus spinifer) gilded in fine 24ct gold leaf. The scorpion was cleaned, preserved and set before being hand gilded in layers of high-grade pure gold, then burnished to a reflective shine. The gold reflects different tones throughout the day as the temperature of the sunlight changes.
