Heavily moulded silver-plate frame, ornate scrollwork style paired with an aged wood and velvet backing.
This frame is beautifully ornate with a light patina which could be polished back to a high-shine silver or left to show it’s provenance. The plating is marked ‘Z’ in the bottom corner. The once black velvet back has been sun bleached over time. Wall hanging and free-standing hardware on the back mean this frame could be displayed on a shelf, mantle piece or hung on a wall.
Suitable for a picture or painting approx. 11cm x 17cm or 4½” x 6½”. Will ship with glass, but photographed without to avoid glare.
This piece was hand sourced by me in September during a four day sourcing trip around northern Milan, and imported as a selected collection (aka the tiny amount of items I was able to fit into my hand luggage). I chose pieces based on what I love and would style in my own home. I began sourcing vintage professionally earlier this year, but I began collecting in my early 20’s.
