A very large forest scorpion (Heterometrus spinifer) gilded in fine 24ct gold leaf. The scorpion was cleaned, preserved and set before being hand gilded in layers of high-grade pure gold, the burnished to a reflective shine. The gold reflects different tones throughout the day as the tempereature of the sunlight changes. Photographed using a daylight bulb, the tone of the gold in most household settings is warmer.

Very large frame measuring 33cm with wall hanging hardware on the back. Glass removed for photography to avoid glare, all frames ship with the glass.
