Italian Vintage - Original Miniature Giltwood Frame

This lovely ornate frame features a cropped print of the famous Rococo oil painting titled ‘The Duke of Berry and the Count of Provence as Children’. It was originally painted in 1757 by the French court portraitist François-Hubert Drouais

This Italian Florentine-style oval frame features typical Rococo openwork scrollwork and a bright gold gilt finish, with wall hanging. Cat for scale.

This piece was hand sourced by me in September during a four day sourcing trip around northern Milan, and imported as a selected collection (aka the tiny amount of items I was able to fit into my hand luggage). I chose pieces based on what I love and would style in my own home. I began sourcing vintage professionally earlier this year, but I began collecting in my early 20’s. Living in an old house in the Norfolk countryside has led me to countless antique shops, vintage markets and museum gift shops (my secret for replica artefacts and the highest quality painting replicas of Old Masters).
